Rex Kneece
Rex Kneece is a partner of Kneece Law Firm, LLC in Columbia where his practice focuses on government relations, legislative issues and government contracts. Maintaining an active lobbying practice, Mr. Kneece regularly presents testimony and arguments on behalf of his clients to the S.C. General Assembly, staff, Executives Branches and other regulatory authorities.
Since joining the firm in 1992, Mr. Kneece has been at the forefront of many significant issues considered by the South Carolina Legislature - tort reform, video poker, alcoholic beverage codification reform, predatory lending, film incentives, etc. Additionally, he has held numerous Ad Hoc positions on study committees and advisory panels.
In 2004, Mr. Kneece was listed as one of the most influential lobbyists in South Carolina and “leader of the pack” by South Carolina’s largest newspaper The State. He is widely recognized for his knowledge and expertise in such areas as entertainment law, financial institutions, alcoholic beverage law, civil liability, motor vehicle regulations and tobacco restrictions.
After earning a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Mr. Kneece clerked for the Honorable Frank P. McGowan (Circuit Court, Greenville). Before that, he served as a law clerk in Legislative Council from 1990-1992. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science and served throughout college as Page and Assistant Chief Page in the South Carolina House of Representatives and Lt. Governor’s Office.
